It's SOLD.......... It's GONE!!!

The modified has been sold, the only advertising was the 'For Sale' sticker that was stuck on the car while at the Modified champs in Wellington in January this year.

Luke Keegan will be racing it down in Christchurch, we wish him all the best with the car, it has been an asset to Allan in it's first season.

2007-2008 Season so far.......

Well, where to start? Allan has been out in the Sprint car a lot mainly at Western Springs, but also at Bay Park & Palmy. He has been seen doing a lot of donuts, but also has been keeping up with the best of them. He has found it very different racing a Sprint car compared to the modified, it is a lot of hard work, and sometimes finds himself tiring out towards the end of a race.

The modified is currently For Sale, complete car including the motor, it will be sad to see it go as it gave him the NZ Title last season.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the sponsors associated with the cars -
Spot-light Systems
Elf Lubricants
Key-2 Real Estate
Auckland Machine Tools - MAZAK
A & K Haigh Engineering

Until next time..........

Sprintcar vs Modified

Well the racing season is creeping up on us now, with the first practice scheduled for 6 October.

The modified is ready to go, all we needed to do to it on the off season was powdercoat the chassis.

Allan purchased a sprintcar at the end of last season and has been busy ordering parts for it from the States and also painting it.

Will put a race calendar on here soon.

Allan keeps NZ Modified Grand Prix Title

20 cars fronted in Huntly on Saturday 24 February for the New Zealand Modified Grand Prix. Three 20 lap races would decide the title.

Heat 1 Allan got grid 4. He moved quickly into 2nd spot and passed Blakeley 56A to take the lead and the first heat win.

Heat 2 Allan had grid 14. Tama 9W hit the front early on, Allan moved into 2nd and gave chase. Tama and Allan fought it out up front with Tama finishing 1st and Allan 2nd.

After the first two heats Allan had 39 points, Foxy with 37 points, and Tama with 35 points. These three guys pretty much being way ahead in points.

Heat 3 Allan had grid 14 again. Foxy had grid 6. To win Allan knew he only had to finish directly behind Foxy. It took Allan a wee while to make any progress but he slowly made his way into 4th behind Mark Ward which is where he finished.

Heat 1 - grid 4 finished 1st
Heat 2 - grid 14 finished 2nd
Heat 3 - grid 14 finished 4th

After heat 3 both Allan & Foxy were tied on 56 points. Tama was back in 3rd with 51 points. This meant a runoff to decide the title between Allan & Foxy, Allan started on grid 2 and Foxy on grid 1. As expected Allan won the start and drove away to keep the title.

Many thanks to Allan’s sponsors for their continued support - Elf Lubricants, Spot-light Systems, Sandvik Steel, Sandvik Coromant, A & K Haigh Engineering

Modified Dirt Cup

The Modified Dirt Cup Championship was scheduled to run over two nights. However, after a committee meeting it was decided to limit the meeting to one night, Saturday 3 February.

21 of New Zealand’s top Modified driver’s from around New Zealand came up to Auckland to contest the Modified Dirt Cup.

The cars were split into 2 groups and each group was given two 15 lap points races. The top 6 cars from each group would then contest a flying lap shootout to confirm the starting grid positions for the 25 lap Dirt Cup Race.

Allan qualified through to the Top 6 shootout with ease. The shootout saw Allan get the fastest lap time which meant he would start on a front grid, which was grid 2.

The start of the race was a bit of a shambles for Allan, which resulted in him being passed by a number of cars, but he managed to pass them all again except 3nz, who came home first and Allan finished 2nd .

The race itself went without any cautions, however I feel there should have been two orange light cautions, one to move 38a who was only just off the track in pitbend and the other to move 4s off the wall in cemetery bend with 2-3 laps left to run under green.

A good night and a good result coming home 2nd.
